My boyfriend’s female best friend is overstepping their boundaries and it’s bothering me. Any advice?

I’ve been struggling with an issue involving my boyfriend and one of his female friends. He is a wonderful person—loyal, respectful, and a great communicator. He has many female friends, which has never bothered me, except for one.

Since we started dating, she has crossed boundaries that make me uncomfortable. She excludes me from conversations, subtly puts me down, and gets overly close to him, often touching him and making it obvious that they’re “best friends.” No one else seems to notice because she’s outgoing and well-liked.

I’ve tried to give her the benefit of the doubt, but her behavior is starting to affect me. I don’t want to ask my boyfriend to end the friendship, but I do need him to be aware of how uncomfortable it makes me. How can I approach him about this without causing tension? Am I overreacting?
