Why would a man take his children to meet his lover?

Probably trying to convince her to change her mind and to see if she would accept his kids ‘so he can officially leave his wife for her. It sounds like the wife already knows he met someone else and has his heart set on being with this other girl , but since the other girl doesn’t want to be a home wrecker , he is trying to convince her that she isn’t a home wrecker because his wife and him are no longer together. I am actually in the same situation now with my wife. We still live together for the kids sake but we both agreed we wouldn’t introduce our kids to anyone until we know the new person is in it for the long haul and not the short haul , My wife and I aren’t together romantically anymore , we both do our own things and we are mutual for the kids sake.
