Have the opposite situation kinda. We had a kid and he decided nope, no more. I still would like more, but obviously you shouldn't pressure someone to have a kid if they don't want to that's fucked up. We're separating (one of several reasons) and I figure I may be able to have more kids with someone else later, will see how things go.

Kids are important. You should make sure you're both on the same page about them before getting married, but even still things could change when it goes from a hypothetical having a kid to a real life having a kid. It's a big deal and often a deal-breaker.

Babies and marriage are two things I’d be asking about early on, before a relationship is even in the equation. Mainly because in my opinion those are two uncompromisable standards/beliefs, and neither party should have to sacrifice such important wants in life. I wouldn’t want to invest in someone, fall for them then feel too attached to end things because one person does or doesn’t want a kid.

I didn't want kids.
My wife, before marriage, said she did want kids, but agreed to abide by my wishes.
We married.

I should have gotten a vasectomy.
I didn't.

She became pregnant through her own admitted deceit.
I then said that a sibling must be provided for our now 27-year-old son.
She absolutely refused to do so.

What a mess.

That is something that should of been talked about before entering a relationship with someone , so the fact that you didn’t , it could possibly mean that relationship is coming to an end , unless tthey are ok with not having kids and choose to stay

If I knew about it prior to marriage, I'd leave, if she changed her mind and chose not to have kids after we got married, I'd divorce. I want kids, I'm not going to waste my time with someone who doesn't want children. It may sound harsh but it's the truth.
