Does Having Different Work Schedules Affect Your Relationship?

Do you think it’s important to have the same schedule as your partner, like having the same days off or at least working similar shifts so you can actually spend time together? Or does it not really matter? Would different schedules affect your relationship?

For me, living with my fiancée while she’s not working and home all the time has shown me that we kind of need time apart. It’s not that I get annoyed when she wants to hang out, but I never really get time for myself, and she’s always got nothing to do. After a while, she gets bored or we just run out of fun things to do together, and things start feeling a little stale. I’ve learned it’s healthy to have some space, so we’re not relying on each other to be entertained or to stay happy all the time. I think if we had different schedules or different days off (assuming she gets a job) might make the time we do spend together more enjoyable.
