My fiancé just pulled a gun on my dog, what should I do?

I am extremely disturbed and feel I need to leave him after this. My dog and him got along well in the beginning. Then my fiancé began being mean to my dog. Lately things have intensified between them. Ever since we visited my fiancés family, my dog has began attacking my fiancé anytime he comes near him. I thought my dog was just overwhelmed from being in a different environment around new people. However, they clearly hate each other now. My fiancé tried to kiss my dog and he bit his ear. Then he pulled a gun on my 10 lb dog. I don’t know what to do. I don’t know why my dog has only been attacking him recently. I don’t know what to do about it. However, pulling a gun on my dog is completely unacceptable. My dog is everything to me and he knows this. I am afraid and don’t know what to do about this.

I would take my dog to a dog daycare and do training exercises with the animal to help calm and reassure it.

I think you should go and get your dog, obedience classes, he shouldn't be attacking people for no reason. He doesn't hate your boyfriend, he just reacting your boyfriend energy.

With regards to boyfriend getting a gun to the dog, maybe he is reacting to the dogs behaviour and probably thinking in his illogical mind, the gun will scare the dog or make the dog more obedient to him.

They are both scared of each other, its your dog take responsilibity for your dog, and go and get him training. Also tell your boyfriend to put the gun away, as its scaring you. That behaviour is not accepable, regardless of the dog.

I think both of you have let this situation go out of control. Take responsilbity for it. If I was in your shoes, I would deal with the dog, he shouldn't be biting people for no reason.

A 10 pound dog is not a threat to his life, he could have just slapped the shit out of it. What a coward. Unfortunately when a dog bites and gets the results he is looking for, he is 50% more likely to bite again to get those results. If the dog bites a second time after that and gets the results he's looking for again , he's 100% going to bite again. Your dog is a liability.
