Definition of boring? Boring by what standard? According to whom?
At the age I am I find many younger people “boring” as all they do is tether themselves to devices be it games consoles or mobile phones , blogging and vlogging about their best ‘fake’ llives in the hope that their “virtual’ or would be friends find them a stitch more relevant or interesting , their social and communication skills superseded by the average chimpanzee.
Most of the seniors I know can tell you a million interesting stories and carry such insight through experience wisdom and understanding that I am genuinely in awe of them. So …. boring as you age , nah , just increasingly ignored and set aside by a disrespectful and ungrateful society , seen as irrelevant and past their use by date !
Ageing is a priveledge not a right !
I think there is largely a perception that older persons are boring because sadly a lot have lost a lot of people, and don't have many to talk to or associate with, so when they do get a hold of someone, they may tend to talk for a really long time and ignore social cues that someone really isn't that interested in the conversation which can be boring for some. Also when you're younger, you tend to have work, and school, and social things going on all the time, an be more connected to ongoing trends, but it may be far far less for someone older, and harder for younger people to relate to which may make them seem boring.
Being boring is a perception of the ones you speak to. For some, you may be interesting and full of stories, but others, may be bored. There is no real way to know who finds you interesting or how to maintain sustained interest in you until you talk to people.
My boyfriend was 65, funny, full of pep and energy! He wasn't some fuddy duddy at all.
I just turned 70 myself and I am still one of the cool girls from high school 😎
Many had already been boring when they were young.
It's more an individual condition and unrelated to age.
