Why is a crush seen as immature by some people?

I don't know who calls it immature they are obviously idiots who are in denial because everyone in life has had a crush on someone. Its human nature. Maybe they are referring to a "crush" as an adult or later in life because they feel at this age we should be upfront and just tell our love interests that we like them. But that isn't always possible. What if we have a crush on a movie star, we can't just walk up to them and tell them. Or what if its a married co- worker? That would be inappropriate, so crushing on them from afar is the mature thing to do.

It's the same issue when it comes to hobbies like gaming, drawing or similar things.
It's something a lot of children or teenagers do, or in this instance experience. So they associate it with that age bracket and therefore deems it childish.

Like 'oh, kids primarily see animations? Then that must mean all animations are childish and for kids'

I think it's just the word to be honest. The feeling in itself isn't any different regardless of how you call it when you're infatuated. No one I know is really bothered by the term though... maybe the idea of liking someone without taking action is what makes it childish, but I assume that's more the case for men.
