I'll be totally honest. I never understood why polygamy is illegal. If men and women want to have several spouses, what is wrong with that?

no because population is still pretty much 50:50. if you don't have polygamy, then logically there's an equal ammount of single women. so it's just a matter of finding each other. if you allow polygamy, you're setting in stone that people will not be able to find a partner, cause they're already taken. because polygmamy doesn't mean everyone just fucks everyone. you're still exclusive and loyal within that group of people inside of the relationship. and typically men won't accept another man in the relationship, so this would actually make the problem even worse.
