Why would my boyfriend tell friend about our sex life?

So my boyfriend and I have been together for a little over 5 years. He knows my past about how sex isn't something I just at every chance get due to [my first time noting being 100% my decision.] Now I saw a text he sent to one of his friends who is a girl and she's told me a number of times she would not date him. But he told her how long it's been since we have had sex and complaining about it to her. Why would he not talk to me about this and there are reasons as to why it's been a while. Like I refuse to have any sex or intimate moments when I've had a few drinks or when he's under the influence as that's how I've been taken advantage of in the past. But he won't talk about this issue with me so how should I try and get him to talk to me about it and not her?
