Why would a guy tell his friend who likes me that we had sex?

He’s friend who knows him for years sent me a message telling me that he asked him if we know each other and showed him our messages and told him we had sex. He told me that since he knows him he’s probably jealous.
I mean, if he doesn’t want anything serious with me why is he doing this? His friend and I were talking long time before we added each other on Facebook we don’t know each other personally only through Facebook.

We only share memes and that’s it. I even showed him our convo because he asked me and it’s only memes or us leaving each other on seen because we don’t know each other in person

Why not? Guys do some stupid s*** to eachother sometimes for some goofy reasons. I showed a friend of mine a picture of a girl that I was talking to trying to date and he looked at it and told me she was fat (by the way, my friend is kind of short and fat😆) so I said "she's short" (because she was) so it gives her that appearance. And then he just kept going on ridiculing her so then I said what makes you such a prize? Then he Saud "I could f*** her if I wanted to". And I know this is a juvenile response but I responded "well let's see you try then". Because I was pretty sure she'd reject him.

Why were we having this argument? Why did he feel the need to insult her and why did I feel the need to defend her over something so stupid?

Like I say, guys say and do some really stupid things sometimes.

Oh, that's a very common tactic that guys use when they want to discourage their friends and acquaintances from continuing their efforts to have sex with you. By making the other guy believe that he's already been intimate with you, he hopes that his friend will give up and leave you for him to pursue.
