11 weeks of intense conversations after reconciliation?

I’ve been friends with a guy, lets call him A for about 1.5 years. We've had some serious arguments about boundaries, and I’ll admit, neither of us reacted very nicely.

After 2 months of not talking, we have recncilled and have been talking everyday for 10/11 week ish nearly everday for 7-8 hours 80% each time. A is also in a serious relationship (he met their mother and sister), so luckily this is a platonic relationship. The thing is we both live on different continents, with an 8 hour time difference.

However, the intensity of our converastions (serious and casual topics) sometimes leaves me questioning things. He says he enjoys speaking to each other throughout the day. But his behavior can be confusing, and sometimes I feel like I might be used for attention. I really care about him, but these mixed signals makes me doubt things. I want to understand if this is just a normal part of a deep friendship, or if I’m misreading the situation. And is it normal for someone to act this intensely in a platonic friendship?
