I'll tell you why. by the way you didn't define dominance. Anyway, I think the male should dominant the relationship because it gives coherency to the relationship. Without one person dominating the relationship there would be a lack of coherency and a lack of coherency is always the reason why relationships fail. Women should not dominant the relationship because women need to feel like they won a prize. Men need to date down. If a woman is dominating the relationship that's bad because she is more likely to leave. Men need to dominant but not abuse. Is there a better alternative? Yes, there is.

The, better, alternative is allowing a vision to be the dominator of the relationship and in turn this would make the male and female both EQUAL. If you want to be a doctor you get in harmony with it. You don't go join a street gang. You don't get to become a doctor by doing whatever the hell you want. You have to get in harmony with it. You have to act like the person who would naturally achieve doctor credentials. Same with relationships, unfortunately almost 100% of relationships don't do that. If you want romance in your relationship, then you have to act romantic and set up romantic activities. If you want to build trust, then you have to have trusting behavior. Everything in life has rules!!! If you don't obey the rules (lack of coherency) then you FAIL!!! So you can choose option 1 or option 2 but you have to choose one of them. If the man and woman are not acting like a team or not obeying the vision, then the relationship will 100% fail or be miserable. This is as true as mathematics.

The problem is most people are too ignorant to know the 2nd option exist. The 3rd option is winging it and hoping it turns out alright; that is what most people choose.

Equality in the eyes of society is based on value and treatment overall. It doesn't mean the two genders are exactly the same in every way. As far as power goes and respect goes both genders should be treated equally. No gender is better than the other overall.

Transgender combat sports... Ok but nobody is fighting anybody in the real world. We live in a modern society where people aren't dealing with hand to hand combat. So that's a terrible example.

On a societal level I'm more than likely just as able to be successful in life as you are. So shouldn't we be treated as equals as far as power and respect are concerned?
