My boyfriend and I were supposed to go to my dad's house today for Thanksgiving dinner (it was the only day everyone could all get together). boyfriend was supposed to get off of work at 3pm. He decided he'd rather stay overtime at work. We only have 1 vehicle and he has it since he's working today. I don't want to Uber with 2 toddlers. I don't have their car seats anyways. We always go to his family for all holidays. We never see mine and I'm tired of it. Since he did this, I am not going to go to his family's Thanksgiving dinner either. Would that be unreasonable or am I overreacting?

I guess in my mind it’s just pointless. Like we both know you aren’t leaving him, whether you had 2 kids together or not, you’ll be upset now and cooking for him tomorrow. It is what it is. In any case though, that’s between you and him. Being petty and foregoing his family dinner is only punishing your toddlers from spending time with that side of the family, not to mention them being able to spend time with the kids. If anything just drop off the kids but that might give you too much guilt so…. Rock meet hard place.

If the kids aren’t his then I guess it doesn’t matter if his family sees them. UNLESS they’ve been raised with him as the father figure thus far and his family has been involved.
