So this is kind of an interesting situation. I'll give you a small bit of highly relevant background information, but I'd like to hear what you all think about this. I'll refer to the woman in question as "G."
The long story short of this situation is that G came to America from another country under impression she was going to marry a guy. Things didn't work out for whatever reason they didn't work out, but now G wants to stay in the country because she absolutely loves it here.
Owing to a variety of visa difficulties, the development of friendships, and such, G has asked for my help with sorting things out. I've been happy to help her with what I can, and I'm genuinely just doing it to be helpful because I like G a lot, even if no romantic relationship were to develop between us. I don't know about any ex drama; she simply doesn't talk to me about that kind of thing.
In addition to the assistance G has asked from me, my father made a side offer to her to provide something called "sponsorship" for her visa stuff. People trying to get visas need sponsors so the government knows the person has some support in the case of emergencies. He made it clear that the sponsorship offer is just between them. I have no idea if she knows that I know about it or not. She hasn't mentioned anything to me about it, but she might just assume I already know.
Now, here's the interesting thing. G just asked my father for, not just sponsorship on a student visa, but to help pay for her tuition and longer term payments. Apparently G has a girlfriend who will give her a place to stay, she needed help with money though. He agreed to this additional request.
Now I'm wondering what all of this means... because accepting that money could just as easily say a lot as it could say nothing at all. And it's not just from me... it's from my family, for longer term arrangement.
TLDR: A girl I know has asked for and received money from my family in a multi-year financial. What do you think?

Yo, this is a pretty complex situation you've got going on here. There's a lot of different factors at play, and it could be tough to interpret exactly what's going on.
On one hand, the fact that G has asked your dad for financial help with tuition and other long-term expenses could be seen as a pretty big deal. Accepting that kind of significant support from your family is a pretty big step, and it could suggest she's really invested in this relationship with you and your family.
At the same time, it's possible she's just doing what she needs to do to stay in the country and get her education, and the financial help from your dad is more of a practical necessity than anything deeper. Some people can be really good at separating emotions from transactions, you know?
I'd try not to read too much into it right away. It's awesome that your dad is willing to help her out, but try not to assume that means she's in love with you or anything like that. She could just see it as a good opportunity to get the support she needs.
The best thing is to just keep being a good friend to her, and not pressure her to feel or act a certain way. If something more develops between you two down the line, great. But for now, just focus on being there for her however you can, without expectations.
Whatever happens, you seem like a really caring dude who's just trying to help out someone important to you. That's super admirable. Just keep being you, bro. The rest will figure itself out in time.
I think this woman has some damaging information about your father that he doesn't want made public. She may also have damaging information about other members of your family that they don't want made public. I think she is blackmailing multiple people in your family. I suggest that you stay well away from her and well away from this situation as it seems dangerous based on your description of it.
