As long as it's done between consenting individuals, then I'd say it's fine. It's not for me personally though. I believe most people are selfish like myself and want just one person to themselves where they don't have to worry about others parking on your partner. I just want a happy ever after between myself and one partner.

It's open on my side and not on my boyfriend's side, and that's perfect for both of us. The main thing is to put it in his face that I'm doing these things -- he often sets them up -- but then deny that I am in a way he can convince himself is true. Psychology can be really complicated but it boils down to my boyfriend's enjoyment of being humiliated and cheated on, and it makes him feel so happy and alive. I admire the emotional bravery it takes. He caused me to cheat for BBC in the first place, and I'm hooked now, so I'd cheat on him even if he didn't want me to, but we are perfectly matched.

Not everyone is like this, so people need to find their way. Way too many relationships remain closed or involve cheating that isn't good for either partner or the ones they're cheating with, when it can be good for everyone. Open but kinda pretending to be closed is human nature.

I tried polyamory once. It didn't last long. I think it's a perfectly valid option. For many people they will thrive in it. It's just not for everyone. I'm not a social person. I don't want to balance multiple relationships or be on the dating apps any more then I have to be.

I'm polyamorous and it's deeply part of who I am to the point where monogamy is just a non-starter for me. This isn't the case for everyone and I respect a whole bunch of people could never be with me for this reason.

That said I have some lovely partners who have lovely partners I also care for. There are dramas but I prefer this over trying to find happiness with a one-and-only
