How do you reassure your partner you're not cheating?

My partner has been acting insecure lately and constantly questions whether I am cheating or not. I am not cheating but it is starting to create tension between us. I want to comfort my wife and rebuild trust but I don't know how to do this without making things worse. Do you have any advice for dealing with this situation?

It's a lot of work. I have to keep 2 cell phones, one of which MUST always be on silent and hidden where she can never find it. Also a good fake ID hidden well so that I can play around under my other identity without revealing real name etc. Another key is to make absolutely sure there is a shower wherever you fool around at so that you can wash up and lastly the most detailed part and frankly the most work - keep an identical pair of clothes in the car trunk to change into so she never smells the other gals perfume etc.

I have never had a significant other accuse me of cheating or being unfaithful on any level. I have however had a few take note of other women taking notice of me but it wasn’t a problem because as one pointed out, I never noticed because she could tell my attention/focus was always on her and not on the tapestry of women in our surroundings. Which had the effect of making her feel safe and secure with me.


If your eyes wonder while with her, it could be why she thinks that way. Otherwise, another possibility is she is deflecting because she herself is cheating. I know I had an ex-fiancé who I would later learn liked to go through my effects and would question me about this or that which I found to be odd behavior. I later realized it was her guilty conscience trying to find leverage on me for her own Indiscretions. She would later admit to cheating. It is an unfortunately possibility you should consider.

"Rebuilt trust"? You haven't cheated, just hasn't been broken, so there's nothing to rebuild on your part. This is her problem, and a deep seated one from the sounds of it. If you tell her point blank that you're NOT cheating, you never HAVE cheated, and have no desire to cheat, yet she remains insecure and suspicious with no grounds, there's nothing more you can do.

Whatever else you think you can do is unreasonable. She could track you 24/7, like a criminal, but it won't help her insecurity. I suggest you guys seek expert help, primarily for her. You're along as the husband who cares, not some cheater.
