1. I have been drunk numerous times when I was a young man but I never cheated.

If your sister drank to the point that she could not control her behavior, then she is responsible for everything that she did while under the influjence because she should not have gotten herself that drunk. If she had gotten that drunk and driven her car, killing someone in a collision, she woujld be held responsible by the criminal courts.

3. Calling something a "mistake" is a verbal trick, trying to classify cheating alongside things like forgetting a birthday or burning dinner because you forgot about the pan on the stove. She intended to have a drink or two or three with the guy. She intended to go to his apartment. She intended to take off her clothes. Getting drunk can remove inhibitions and better judgement which allows people to do things they would not otherwise do. In the cold light of day, they may then consider such things as mistakes.
But they still need to be responsible and accountable, of course.
So in a sense, it is a mistake, looking back.
But getting drunk does not absolve you of responsibility and does not mean you have no means of controlling yourself. Some part of you needs to be open to cheating. So it's your fault and you need to own it
