Uuuugh. It’s over done, just like everything else, but yes, there are.

I have a couple of “work husbands” in the sense that we’re comfortable arguing to the mats bc we know each other for 20+ years. But I’m close friends with their actual wives and sisters and families so it’s nothing shady. We’re just… family.

Top tip, if his real wife is uncomfortable with it try calling him your work daddy instead.

The answer to that is yes it does happen and give me a break. Some people do it as a “joke” but I think most of the time there is definitely something going on between them. The saddest thing is when they’re married but have a work “husband” or work “wife”…. It’s always just a silly joke they claim but they definitely seem to do things for one another more then professional coworkers as well as more then just friends.

It causes a lot of drama too when everyone’s dating one another. Look if you have genuine interest in someone and you’re both single. Take a chance if you like them enough and it’s worth the risk to for it. But people can be cringe

They happen , so yes it’s a real thing , but they are disrespectful to have if you are already in a relationship with someone else ,. Work husbands and work wives can ruin your relationship with your partner , because a partner should not be investing their time into someone else period , especially the opposite sex. when they have a partner at home. So many marriages and relationships have ended for this reason and people have lost their jobs over it as well. So it can be stupid to have.

    For cheaters, yeah.

Years ago I was working as a valet at a condo and my manager and the security supervisor both married will lock each other in a room alone with the lights out except for the computer monitor that was on and be in there for 15 to 20 minutes often coming out laughing.

I personally saw them on multiple occasions.

Nah it's not real thing it is just what losers who don't respect their partners do.. Basically having an emotional affair with a loser at work who is upfront about wanting to fuck them or hiding it and you both playing along as if it it is normal behaviour. If I found out my partner had one I would dump them cuz fuck that BS.

    (They’re not even my type)

Still we help each other out listen to eachother vent. Pretty much what married people do without the intimacy

People seem to be constantly coming up with new terms for inappropriate behavior within their work environment. How... *yawn* interesting.

I think the concept of work husbands and work wives is a dangerous normalization of flirting in the office.

I have a good relation with one guy at my work, he even seems to understand my dry and psychopathic sarcasm. Unfortunately he's 100% gay, so I can't use him while breaks or waiting time.

Are work husbands a real thing? Or work wives? The answer is yes that is some people's relationship sometimes they may be seeing one another but sometimes they're not. Some people may jump to the conclusion that it's all about sex but that is not always the case sometimes people just have a dynamic between one another. Maybe they talk a lot, get one another coffee, hang out, etc. So people start to assume they are together so they become a work wifey or hubby.

I mean seriously? I'd never heard of that till I read this question , if you did get a card like that it's sending you a very obvious message of interest , basically encouraging the infidelity.

It's strange that a lot of people in romantic relationships have more respect for their employer than their spouse. Sad actually.
