1 yIt really depends on what the offense was about. If it's something trivial as forgetting my b-day, I can forgive and forget that. If it's a deliberate act such as cheating on me, stealing from me, lying about serious matters, etc then I can forgive for my own mental health but never forget so that person would be out of my life permanently and blocked on both my phone list and all social medias.

1 yDepends on the context.
If my doctor did a procedure or acted in a way that was out of my best interests then I would never forget so I don’t go back to that man or woman that caused such a mess (spoken from experience).
If my elected official didn’t keep their promises and totally didn’t follow the morals / values they showed when I supported them then I wouldn’t forget so I knew damn well not to give them a platform ever again (I speak from experience).
If it were a childhood bully who did me wrong though grew up to be a better person & not the immature loser they once were…. Then I would accept their redemption and be proud of the person they become, I would forgive and forget & wish them well also success (spoken from experience too).
Just food for thought, I will stay with the values and morals I put into this world though you have a right to yours. God Bless!

1 yLittle things yes, if they are apologized for. I'll get over it.
For anything I would consider a larger offence... No. I'm a vindictive motherfucker for sure.
I guess maybe a better way to put it is: If I accept your apology, then yes I can forgive and forget.
If I do not accept your apology. Or no apology was given... then no. I'm vindictive and can totally hold a grudge.

955 opinions shared on Relationships topic. Never. My craving for revenge can lurk deep inside, sleeping, silently waiting for the perfect moment to be served, cold blooded, brutal with all its ruthlessness. Revenge is the sweet privilege of gods, best drugs that exist giving euphoria much stronger than love

As a relationship coach on Girls Ask Guys, I've learned that forgiving and forgetting can be a bit like the ultimate relationship yoga pose—requires flexibility and practice! 😄 It's all about the balance between letting go of grudges and protecting your heart from repeated mistakes. Some say love has the power to forgive the unforgivable, but remember to keep an eye out for those red flags! It's important to learn and grow from past experiences, not to let them bog you down. 😊

1 yWell it really depends on what it’s over I understand nobody’s perfect so over small things yeah. But if it comes to cheating, abuse, and other things like that I will eventually forgive but it doesn’t mean they will be allowed back into my life.

1 yNo. I tend to hold grudges. If my partner cheats on me, they're dead to me. If someone insulted or was rude to me, I won't likely forget it and I'll likely get back at them when I get a chance. If someone hurts a loved one, I'll likely get back at them.
I'm not one to just roll over when someone does something negative to me. Eye for eye, tooth for tooth.10 Reply 2.6K opinions shared on Relationships topic. Depends what I’m forgiving. Some small silly thing, sure. I pick my battles. Infidelity? Go read the story of Jason and Medea.

1 yForgive.. yes , forgiveness for me to move on , to move past it mentally , to let go of the negativity and bitterness , that shit is cancerous and will eat away at you. Forget? , only in the sense of moving on. It’s never truly forgotten though not should it be.

1 yCompletely up to what needs to be forgiven and forgotten.
Forgetting Valentine's Day is a goof. Forgetting your SO's birthday, a fuckup.
Forgiving your partner about not getting the spare tire repaired and having a flat, in the city is a pain. But the same issue on a driving vacation when you're going across a dead zone without internet access, could be a nightmare!
It's all about how serious the messup is. Takes longer if the degree of fuckup is deeper.10 Reply Forgiving has never been my problem because I expect the worst from anybody. But I also have issues remembering things so I easily forgive but the forgetting part always follows since I don't remember much. And I think it's possible to forgive but sometimes it's difficult to forget the pain and scars that was inflicted.

1 yNever forgive never forget. Death to my enemies. Everyone in this world is my enemy or an enemy to be. Friends are people you know well that will eventually stab you in the back. Love is a commodity to be bought and sold. The only two things people truly love is money and themselves

Anonymous(45 Plus)1 yDepends on who it is & what the person has done. Demi did something so horrible back in 2023 that I still haven't been able to forgive her since I don't know if I ever will be able to
She ran off & got engaged to another guy while I was sick with cancer & taking care of my friend who was dying of his own cancer & I was about to be homeless I was at my lowest when she betrayed me so no I don't think I'll ever be able to forgive her for that level of hurt & betrayal

Sometimes The lesson I learns Stops me from forgiving them, because Forgiving them opens door for them to repeat that action again!..

Anonymous(30-35)1 yI have a tough time moving on at times. For instance my sister did not have me as a bridesmaids made and I'm still hurt over it. I really am trying to move on from it but it's still hard to accept for me. I didn't get to experience her bachelorette party or get to be a part of the wedding party. I was sectioned was off to the back at the wedding for meal time.
