There are many cases in which I would not forgive and forget.

Cheating? I'll remember it for life and I'll never forgive it. But in a sense, they will be dead to me.

Killing a loved one? I'll find them and kill them myself. I don't believe in jail time and rehabilitation for murderers.

Steal all my hard work or screw me in business? You can bet it's eye for eye, tooth for tooth. I'm coming after you with vengeance.

Forgiveness is accepting that someone is going to continue to make the same mistake. I have limited tolerance for that in general but absolutely zero tolerance if they complain about the consequences of that mistake and then continue to make it.

Remembering doesn’t mean you’ve not forgiven the person. That’s not what F&F actually is. F&F just means to put it behind you and move forward. For example, I’m a relationship we have to navigate through the challenging comparability issues… there will be errors… we have to F&F most of the errors — “forgive” by showing grace and “forget” by not constantly dredging up the past as a weapon. It doesn’t mean forget the lessons learned….

It depends on what they did to me. Generally if it's just saying something bad about me or my beliefs I'm fine with that and forgive. There are other things though that I'll never be ok with and for those I'll either block them or take my anger out on them.

Generally some form of forgiveness is healthy not for the person that caused you harm but for you. Keeping all that anger inside is corrosive. Humans are complex and do all kinds of stupid things... often they have no clue they even wronged you. I just try to forget/forgive and move on.

As for me I do believe in a lot of things. Some say forgive & forget & as for me I can forgive but if truth be told I don’t really forget. On the other hand some of those unforgettable things I can overlook or look the other way if I choose.
