Basically my ex had torn me down to merely a shell of myself... My fiance picked me back up and was so patient with me relearning how to have a healthy relationship. He encouraged me to push past my social anxiety but never forced me to do anything I didn't want to. He knew my limits. He stood by me despite it taking me years to stop bottling up my feelings and exploding at the smallest inconvenience. We've been together for nearly 10 years and we've never had a proper fight, we've bickered at each other sure, made eachother mad absolutely, but we talk through it immediately and we figure things out. Neither of us are perfect obviously, but I can't imagine spending my life with anyone else. I'm really excited to see him be a dad one day.

I can't really explain it. He just had so much charisma, good manners, a sense of humor that is infectious and we shared all the same interests. Even our birthdays are only 5 days apart.

I am my wife's third husband although I've been married to her longer than her previous 2. So, I am "The Third".

I've only been married to her. However, I did want to marry another woman. To me, she was "The One". She was the love of my life and I can tell you when I realized I was in love with her and I can tell you when I knew that I wanted to marry her.

But, she had other plans and married someone else.

I knew my ex-wife only a little over a month before I went into the military. I came home on leave and asked her to marry me. Years later my friend asked me this exact question. The only thing I could tell him is "When it is right, you will know". Eventually when he met his current wife, he said "you were right". You just know. There is nothing I can point to and say "here is what you will feel" or "this is how I knew". Because you can have those same feelings about others you may have dated. When that person shows up, you will know it in your heart and soul.

Deep mutual attraction that goes beyond the physical stuff. But I'll tell you a secret... just because you meet the right one doesn't mean it's the right time or that you're in the right place (or that they are) for it to work out. Just like if you didn't know how to drive a car and somebody gave you a nice car, it doesn't mean you should hop in and hit the gas pedal. Way more to life than two people being together. Like who ARE you really? What do you want/expect? How well do you know YOURSELF? These things matter.

She was compatible with me in every way that mattered, our souls recognized each other and we were perfect for each other in every way. The tricky part is that despite that things got in the way and the relationship failed. So I don't know if she's truly the one. If she is I believe we will reunite as a couple at some point. If she's not I am very very curious who the one is and how that relationship will be bu comparison.
