Have you ever had a successful relationship that began as cheating on your prior partner?

Almost always, when I hear about someone cheating, the follow-up story is that when the cheater and their then-current partner broke up, the cheater and the affair partner continued their relationship. . . but it didn't last very long. What is your experience? Have you ever started a relationship by cheating on someone, and you finally got into a relationship with your affair partner? How did that work out?

I never have and I’ve NEVER seen one work. All of them ended about as you would expect these two people will do the same exact thing to one another at some point or another.

I have seen people get divorced and immediately move in with someone they had a affair with/move someone in. All may seem fine for a while but none of those relationships ever stood the rest of time and the only person I know of that’s still with that person is in a very toxic marriage.

If two people genuinely recognize and repent of what they did wrong and allow God into their relationship. That’s the only saving Grace it really has. I’ve never seen one successfully and happily make it. Some may have lasted longer then I expected. But not forever.

No, but I had relationships with girls’ that cheated on her boyfriend with me , and immediately broke up with their boyfriends’ for me. Some females’ are good at doing that shit

Yea I don’t date guys’ lol, but I know guys’ can do this shit as well , bottomline it comes down to having a selfish mindset to the point they string their partners’ along until they meet someone they think is better then their current partner. It sadly happens more than we like to think it does

Yes, but I dont think this is something that a majority of people do. I've had two partners cheat on me (those are the ones I know about) and I would be surprised if any of the others were cheating (unless it was very early in my life when I dated more women casually, without commitment.)

Two cheaters is two too many, but still a relatively low number for 50+ years of dating, relationships, and marriage. But, of course, when you have been the victim, it doesn't really matter how many other women are cheating; all that matters is that you were a victim and got hurt by a selfish woman.

When I was younger I cheated on my first ex. We were in the process of a break up but it wasn’t official yet. After we officially broke up, I came clean to my first ex for the cheating and we stayed as friends. Then I ended up dating the affair partner for over 6 years. We broke up because we were pursuing different careers and didn’t want to do LDR. We met again as adults and now we’re engaged. Have never cheated ever since my first ex.

I think ultimately any relationship that began like that is ultimately doomed especially if the other person knows they were the person cheated with. Ultimately if they cheat with you they will cheat on you.

I'm lenient when it comes to cheating in a relationship, so when my ex started seeing another guy, I was okay with it. About a year into it, she moved in with him but continued seeing me. I had become the side guy. It stayed that way for a couple years until she moved back in with me but kept seeing the other guy

Never did this myself but I've had friends that did. From what I've noticed, they bring the expectations from their previous relationship into the new one and they end up dissatisfied and miserable. Then end up cheating on that relationship as well.
