Do autistic children learn to talk?

I'm dating someone and he has 2 kids, the little one is around 6 years and does not talk. I'm hoping he can go to school soon because he is around his little cousin and his cousin has bad manners that he is starting to catch. I went to my boyfriend house the other day and I was so hungry I asked if I could get cereal, I served myself some cereal and was about to get a banana when his autistic kid was pushing me and mind you he is thin/skinny but has strength. Well he doesn't talk and he kept pushing me and wanted the cereal I had and I let go of my hand because he was grabbing it which really annoyed me and instead of saying no I got frustrated and gave in because he started to cry. Honestly I got frustrated because he saw as soon as his dad went to the bathroom he did that. He waited until his dad wasn't there because he knew it wouldn't be okay. Well my boyfriend did tell him no and he calmed down anyways just seeing if things will get better, if anyone has experienced this too
