Why do so many people CLAIM to be autistic now-a-days?

Back in my day you wouldn't have wanted be called retarded. And it would have been considered and insult to be called retarded. And since "autustic" is just the new "retarded" why do so many people want to claim it? I mean let's be real here. Reading people and understanding people takes effort on your part. And in thier laziness and narcissism today so many people today do not want to put that effort forth anymore. So instead they simply say "I'm autistic" to alleviate themselves of any responsibility to care about someone else's feelings. You people sicken me. Do you make an excuse at EVERYTHING in life?

but given how emotional and easily offended most people tend to be even on behalf of someone else, I'd say a large majority of people are autistic

especially white liberals getting angry on behalf of black people or male feminists getting angry on behalf of women

Diagnosis is one thong. Self diagnosis is something completely different.

its a lot easier to diagnose it nowadays. I have Aspergers which is a form of autism and I was undiagnosed until I was 22

They want life in easy mode, as a formally diagnosed autistic it isn't easy... lazy people hope to get state handouts for their 'disability' instead of working
I personally do use retarded when speaking about myself to the chagrin of others

A mix of it being culturally "cool" and way more people are seeking and being diagnosed. I wasn't diagnosed until I was an adult.
