Boyfriend says "I love you" more often than ever before, I still prefer to say it only in really special moments. Is there something wrong with me?

I know everyone is different, but I feel that saying "I love you" too often can make it less meaningful. Some people say it after every phone call with their bae and I find that so odd. Sometimes it makes me feel like I am obligated to say it or makes me think that he may love me more than I do him because he says it more often?

Is there something wrong with me? I prefer to say it only in certain situations, when it's really just the two of us and either it's an emotional situation or a very romantic one.

People that say I love you to their partner over and over , like a broken record , are people that sadly need reassurance, which that reassurance can stem down from their own person insecurities , which sadly can be hard for someone like You , that doesn’t really need reassurance. So be careful because someone that needs that constant reassurance will sometimes feel like their partner doesn’t truly love them the same , and assume their partner is up to no good , so they will sometimes get their reassurance elsewhere if they feel their partner doesn’t love them the same. I also read an article on this not so long ago they stated most Cheaters will use that as an excuse as to why the cheated , because their partner wasn’t reassuring them the same way.

Can, a possibility then, just for the fun of it, I'd wonder what happens if you verify this possibility. But maybe you did confront your ideas with reality already. I see nothing wrong with your preference per se, because it's a preference offending no one.

But I can clearly see the appeal to talk about this with your boyfriend, if he isn't aware of why you're behaving like you do, of your meaning/intent, symbolic gestures and all, behind the scenes. It's a simple thing to talk about with him, simple, useful, intimate even, for you, him, both of you. Because it could clear some misinterpretations, preemptively, and because it would be a nice chat, at least to me lol, as I like talking about why we do what we do

There is nothing wrong with saying ''I love you'' at your own pace. You should never feel pressured to say it just because he expresses it very often. I'm married and we don't say ''I love you'' too often. We say it once in a while. Other ways of showing our love is through loving gestures, communication and mutual trust.

Nothing wrong AT ALL. We also don't say 'I Love You' just for the sake of saying in fact we can go weeks without mentioning but we always show each other how much we mean to one another and that's beautiful. I truly feel loved without him having to say it.

It ONLY makes sense to say it as often as YOU feel it , never for reciprocation or obligation. When I have felt that it’s being said too much I say something like I know you do.

"I love you" isn't really that big of a thing. Believe peoples' action more than their words. If they are showing you love with their actions then it doesn't matter how often they say it.

If a person says they love you 10 times a day but they do not take or show any loving actions toward you...

I am with you. Those three words are very special. I would never want them to turn into something that is everyday. I think that would lower the value/importance of them. It will just become background noise after a while.

You just may not be as passionate regarding your Love towards him. My wife never says she loves me but it never stops me from expressing myself towards her.
