Why would someone try to get revenge after they took their partner back after they cheated?

Because revenge sometimes feels good to people , but it’s also stupid to do , why you should never take someone back that cheated on you in the first place Revenge cheating makes you just as bad as the cheater themselves , by allowing yourself to stoop to their level , thinking you will be granted some type of imaginary reward for stooping to their level , you are just as wrong as they were and now you are a cheater as well. Some of my cheating exes tried getting me back and I just laugh and say no fucking way , because if someone truly loved you , they would have never cheated on you on the first place.

People are hurt and they want to get back at someone. Unfortunately many times in the process they hurt themselves more then anyone else. People want to feel like they have the upper hand as well as have understandable emotions.

But be smart about it especially if you give them fuel to use against you

I was that person. My ex cheated and I took him back, but I took revenge a couple of months later. We were still together for another 3 years after, and since the score was “even” there was no need for additional revenge from his end.

It was toxic I know but I didn’t know better back then, I was petty and got my ego hurt so I decided to take revenge. I did it purely to hurt him back and to regain some control back, and he forgave me because he felt I needed it to even out the score. It’s stupid.
