I heard a story about that. It goes like this:

- A gets caught cheating (in the act) and is remorseful.

- B breaks up but then reconciles and they worked it out.

- Years later they get married and have kids.

- B suddenly cheats for revenge, feels nothing for the affair person.

- B at least confesses to it and stops the affair

They're both even. Is it ever right to cheat back? What if it's out of just revenge and you're even using the affair person, feel nothing for them?

Not only is it wrong but counterproductive and childish. You don’t forgive someone with the intention to hurt them back, you do it because you believe the damage done can be repaired one day. If you can’t let go of his indiscretion then it’s a waste of time to lie to yourself and act like you can. Nobody else but you is going to have to deal with the repercussions of sharing your body with someone else for no other reason than revenge.

not in a scenario where they both supposedly move on and the other person suddenly cheats for revenge years down the line - i think it's okay sometimes when a break up is in mind, not a tit for tat where they say everything will get better if they BOTH cheat because that'll cause more problems
