1 yEveryone's got their druthers. There are people who prefer to have multiple partners: sometimes at the same time.
I don't know how they do it. I have enough trouble trying to remember one person at a time. I suppose it's always exciting! But, I'm easily amused and excited, so that much variety would just confuse me.
I'd rather deepen a relationship with one person and do fun things to mix it up, if we get a little bored.
Some folks are more flexible and need more stimulation. I get enough seeing a hummingbird in my garden and the sun rising every morning. I'm stimulate enough and NOT that flexible.00 Reply

1 yJust an excuse to exclude commitment from a relationship, they might be verbally committed to each other but if they aren't physically then not only is there no point but there's a high chance their verbal commitment can fall apart, people can say what they want but they only have a limited control of their emotions, open relationships are basically giving people the opportunity to find your replacement, the fact that they open their relationship physically, means there's a higher chance than normal for them to make the wrong decisions just cause they are thinking with their genitals, also let's not forget that it also feeds more into that cuck shit, personally I don't want my wife coming home to me with her pussy filled with someone else's juices idgaf how strong our emotional bond is, if she doesn't value herself physically I don't and won't value her in general, physically nor emotionally.

1 yFor me, open relationships/marriages are one of those things that really sound like a terrible idea for most people. I'm sure there are people out there who can genuinely make it work in a happy and healthy way, but I haven't ever seen it work in my own life.
The people who seem to find themselves in open relationships (at least from the ones I've met) tend to be people who are trying to make a bad relationship work. Either they are wildly overestimating their own emotional security in the relationship, or they're trying to appease a wayward partner with whom their relationship died a long time ago, and they're just trying to hold on for a sense of familiarity.
Those are the exact people you DO NOT want to open your relationship with. Things get extremely messy soooooo fast.

1 yI always seen them as a stupid gimmick with two or more pathetically lonely people.. Its like why hold on to a person who can't fully commit and love only you? Besides friendship and convenience what does that other person really hold for you? You are just scared to be alone? They aren't loyal, they need others to fill roles that you can't and vise versa, and they aren't in love with you because people IN love only have eyes for one person. It's more people who lack commitment and are pushing the idea of having families to be seen as a negative thing.

Me personally would t be in a relationship like that whatsoever, but I know couples that are and they seem to be happy with each other , so I guess if you are ok with your so called partner having sex with other people and you enjoy having sex with other people than that’s the relationship for you , But not for me

1 yI think it's an oxymoron. It's a bad joke. It's not a marriage. People should do whatever makes them happy. But can we call that something else? It's not a marriage.
42 Reply- 1 y
This is nonsense. A marriage is a union for the purpose of raising children together.

@bddddd
I'm going to have to hard-disagree with your view of marriage. That is not at all the purpose of marriage. The purpose of marriage is to legally/publicly recognize a monogamous loving relationship; that both partners intend to be lifelong (or until somebody wants a divorce).
I agree that the open relationship/marriage concept is nonsense.

I know for me it's not what I want.10 Reply614 opinions shared on Relationships topic. @itsannalee I am okay with open relationships / marriages, because I have been involved in two such relationships, and it gave our relationship a lot of extra energy. The only downside to it, if there is one, was my concern that she may fall for another man, and me getting left behind
She, one of the girls I was involved with told me every detail of the sex with another man, and even though many may find it 'disgusting', many men have a voyeuristic side, whether they admit it or not.

But it is not for everyone because both partners need to be fully involved for it to really work. You MUST have trust and have open and honest communications established between you and your partner before even thinking of participating. Also, when starting out, make limits and rules for yourselves. Even the smallest amount of jealousy can ruin things in big ways.
Just two things really to keep in mind, it's just sex and your partner is coming home with you.
If you're thinking about participating, have you and your partner visit an on-premise club together, you don't have to do anything with anyone else if you don't want to, and just observe what it's all about.
00 ReplyOpen relationship just says that you don't like each other enough to commit to just one person.
Kinky or not sharing your body with different people while having a partner is too outrageous.
People mingle from all walks of life. Sexual disease are running rampant from all over the world.11 Reply- 1 y
There are different forms. Polyamory involves committing to more than one person. It is not about sleeping around.
Open marriage isn't marriage that’s friends with benefits but now your stuck together. Its a stupid thing to do because you make marriage pointless. Why get married if you want to sleep around. Thats like buying a house just to sleep outside everyday lol

1 yI don't know if you could call it a relationship or marriage.. It's more like two people who like each other well enough, and are together more for convenience.. Or just one person who is greedy and wants their cake and to eat it too..

1 yI have a double standard opinion on this one. I don't think men should see other women but I think it's perfectly fine if women see other guys on the side. My wife has a boyfriend and it's fine with me.

It fails more often though. Someone gets mad, the kids find out, the neighbors find out, someone catches feelings. It lasts less than 2 years from what I heard. I saw one such relationship of 10 years go down in 15 months. He was a trans woman by that time and her trans woman lover stole her away. That relationship failed as well and she is near destitute now.
Not for me I get jealous easily.
