Not that much. I’m center left, I’d accept center and a bit more left wing. Further than that it gets in the way.
I could not live with someone who does not support the rule of law, or thinks democracy is overrated. Nor could I live with someone who thinks certain groups (ethnic or by sex) are better than others. I would even have real problems with someone who thinks creating a level playing field is not necessary.
As friends or drinking buddies there is way more room for differences. Although my best friends share most of my values.

Growing up my friend group had everything from hypercaptialists, communists, anarchists and things that should not be named.
I have no issue at all with the political views differing. Naturally there can be friction if we were to be politically active in those views. But a differing opinion in and of itself I consider healthy.00 Reply

1 yI would not support a man who supports oppression or behavioural discrimination and persecution towards minority races, disabilities, or medical conditions, unless the marginalized person is guilty of some type of crime or social flaw that makes them worthy of bad treatment from others. I would also not support a man who maligns or bad mouths those who operate by good or innocent ethical principles for living.

Navigating love and politics—talk about a roller coaster ride! 🎢 My aim here is to share some insights on balancing these differences without getting lost in a whirlwind. A little difference can spice things up, but if debates turn into full-on battles, then we've got a red flag waving. The real key is respect, open communication, and not ghosting when things heat up. As long as you both talk it out instead of duking it out, you're golden! 😄 Balance those politics with a little lovebombing! 💖

1 yReasonable to not think exactly the same but there are some issues that would be dealbreakers. Major things on abortion and other stuff like that for instance.

m 1 yNot much. Because I believe in the "Everything is politics" motto, I believe that political opinions are representative of worldviews, philosophy of/in/on life. If I don't relate to her vision, then this relationship will look shallow to me.
17 Reply- 1 y
@Vevv123 that motto is a crude translation from french. A more accurate translation would be... Everything is political, in the sense that values we use to exist or act a certain way in the real world have their own place in the political spectrum. As such, I don't believe that anyone can be apolitical, since we'd live using preexisting values or morals that are politically defined
- 1 y
I see, I learned something new today. You make a great point about politics demonstrating someones core values and morals. Also, politics can differ depending on the location, culture, etc and I can definitely see it playing a role in helping you understand someone on a deeper level.
- 1 y
Politics can vary a lot, depending on where you look at, I agree. Yet when inspecting more closely political philosophies originating from actual political opinions, then any belief seems to have its own category. Which is, yes, really helpful to me, to understand how someone looks at the world, and also how their views are more or less harmonized or clashing together

You're welcome, it's a sort of quiz, though in how I get to know someone it gets diluted in the flow of conversations. Since I prefer conversations over surveys lol
1 y@inforepository it's going to be uncomfortably difficult if I was to date or get serious with or even hitched to a woman who didn't share my values / my political beliefs + more so personality if anything.
Personality makes the woman makes her politics makes her outlook 👀✌🏻👀☯️🔮🤭

@inforepository I'm quite the political nerd so it does matter - if she insulted my political beliefs especially, she ain't my keeper 🔐🗝️
Im okay if we are completely opposites. But certain subjects are non negotiable like abortion. Im not having a child out of wedlock so in marriage I believe thats a joint decision. We agree to have a child, dont kill it behind my back, i will divorce over that. Thats just me.

1 yI would say that she cannot be a hardcore liberal. Because i hate feminists and liberals views about liberally. I am conservative and want someone who doesn’t care about politics or is right wing. Or not a hardcore liberal like its their passion. My dad is liberal but he is my best friend so we get along very well until we talk politics haha. But its all love tho. Liberal women, hell no. Noooo way.
10 ReplyI voted for different sides in the 2 elections I’ve been old enough for. For me politics are just our view on how a problem should be solved. Most of the time both sides agree a problem exists but it’s how do we solve it that the country is divided on. As long as me and my significant other can agree that your position on politics doesn’t make you a good or bad person I’m ok with difference of opinion on who we vote for
00 Reply9.9K opinions shared on Relationships topic. I wouldn't want to be with anyone who is stupid enough to think one political side is so much better than the other. However, right-wingers are the biggest morons.
01 ReplyI don't mind a difference in political views, as long as they aren't ridiculously extreme, and/or make it their entire personality.

@ariesman81 especially personality "is she someone pleasant to live with or a boss manager to live with" yet the reverse is also as worse "a woman who comes home and is a slob or is a slob and doesn't do anything much" ain't a keeper either 🤭💍 in conjunction with all the politics above
- 1 y
And religion above, same mindsets, - if someone wants a baby and the other doesn't ever , there's a good mismatch there 😔

@Godihateyou I only liked out of sympathy because kindly man, someday unless you've experienced both sides, some conservative / traditional women, may not be what you thought either or even the middle - in other words, you may realise "give me the Democrat woman anyday" after you've been around a few rodeos 🙃😅 genuinely
- 1 y
@Godihateyou as I'm 31 to your 43 sir, personally man I'm no shame in saying I'm "a Democrat equivalent" to your country and to me I'd rather date a modern woman who's also a Democrat equivalent like me - provided she's the submissive, feminine type to my dominant male type - even if I'm not a handyman or old fashioned 🤭💪🏻 🔧

You sound weak as fuck. I'm sure you are poor and live in a dangerous and crappy area. Stay their. We don't want you or people as weak as you here.
