But attraction is attraction.

I was about twice as big as my last girlfriend. Tall and some muscle vs short and lean. If I put on 25 pounds that would be a big deal. From fit to chubby. Now if someone half my size does it, that's the equivalent of me putting on an extra 50. We're talking a very different body.

Naturally I would still love her but she should expect to get invited to tag along when I go running more often. Exercising together is fun, and weight is lost pretty quick.

So in essence, she can gain weight without worrying but there is an expectation to get back to our healthy normal afterwards. Whatever that is to us.

This is a really tough subject. Often we, men, are asses if we speak out on this subject. Regardless of how we broach the subject. I think as part of a marriage agreement it is your job to take care of the body you've been given. Gaining weight can be a part of life but working towards maintaining a health weight should also be a part of life. Life long work towards health is a must for me and any spouse I am with. This means expressing concern in a loving way about weight gain. Mostly around the reason and then how I can support her down a better path. I would hope she would do the same for me.
