Trending & News I wouldn’t necessarily choose for or against a partner based on religion or culture. I guess it would mostly depend on how I may perceive or understand how their beliefs etc would impact what I believe I need and want from a parter / wife.
I could be categorized as agnostic atheist but would never deny anyone believing differently but the moment views and belief’s slide into how I comments and opinions on how I choose to live my life , the greater the risk of division and disharmony. Let’s be clear though this would normally reach outside religion and culture anyway , it could be extreme political views even something a lot less divisive and arbitrary such as attitudes aspects of every day life.
So i can’t say either way , but id never say no based on any culture or religion those that devote themselves to a religion just follow one more god than i do.
I'm married, so I guess we could call it a moot point. But it was important for me to find someone who shared my views and values, particularly with religious faith. The reason for that is because I wanted to pass it along to my children and they're more likely to continue practicing if both mom and dad share it as well.
Very important, my Ex was an Atheist. and I am Christian. A person does not have to practice or believe in the same religion as I do, I am open to that. They cannot be Atheist, with most said people, they may lead a Hedonistic lifestyle without feeling accountability to their sinful behavior.
Its important to believe in some kind of higher power. If you don't, I tend to believe you're a NARC who sins a lot.
It is more important to me to have similar values. Religious or cultural background may or may not overlap with that.
As a relationship coach here on Girls Ask Guys, let's dive into this juicy topic! Sharing cultural or religious backgrounds can be a bonding experience, creating common ground and shared values. 😍 However, love can thrive across differences with open communication and respect. It's all about what you prioritize and how flexible both parties are! Compatibility and mutual understanding often hold the winning cards. Love makes its own rules! 💞

It’s at least important that they take the time to understand and appreciate it as part of what makes you YOU.
It’s not; however, it is importantly that she shares my general values to a large extent.
I consider it to be extremely important purely for cultural reasons that both my husband and I are at least on the same page... As I see absolutely no point at all in constantly being at loggerheads with each other.
I do hasten to add that neither of us have any religious beliefs/followings whatsoever.
Cultural is on a spectrum
Since I identify with a few different cultures
I wouldn’t wanna be with someone who’s very invested in a culture or religion that isn’t one I’m familiar with
I tried and it didn’t work
But I would definitely look at detailed compatibility over the the title of the culture
Shared foundational beliefs, ethics, and value systems are incredibly important.
The cultural stuff isn’t as important.
If I can trust that she is going to honor me in her actions and do things the way I would want them to be done, it really doesn’t matter whether she comes from a cornfield in Iowa, a desert in Brazil, a city in Europe or a remote jungle village in Laos.
The less differences the smoother things will be especially long term. There will always be friction in a relationship, arguments, differences in opinions, lifestyle, location etc. Secret is to minimize it from the off set. You also don’t want families bickering about things that can’t be resolved etc. So there’s billions of people in the world and life’s amazing when they click to fit your shape.
Very. my religious beliefs is more then just the spiritual being I worship it's a lifestyle now culture as long as the culture doesn't clashes with my beliefs/ lifestyle etc. it's now that big of a deal
I personally never purely seek the same exact people that shares same culture or religion, but if we ever together, i would just hope that he would accept my religion practice, or else, it would be hard because it would create disagreements along the way
It is very important. Once the newness of a relationship wears off you may realize how inconvenient being with somebody whe has a totally different background and value system
I wouldn't mind somebody from a different culture, and I'm not religious, so the latter doesn't matter much to me.
What does matter to me is that she wants similar things out of life. I'm strictly a rural boy and want children, so a childfree urbanite woman probably wouldn't be a compatible choice.
Please make this hapoencompatible culture, compatible religious views, compatible political views.
Commatible philosophy of life, compatible worldviews.
Freaking mobile app truncating answers:
Please make this happen:
Compatible cultural background
Compatible religious views
Compatible political views
Compatible philosophy of life
Compatible worldviews
Compatible universe
Otherwise, I'd feel grey at best and alienated at worst, I can't relate to an unrecognisable mind. I do relate to a spirit close to mine, it is this spirit that turns the existential dread of life into a much more interesting ride 👌🏼
Gotcha, I copied my answer before sending, you won't wrong me again, dirty piece of code HA ! 😏
Doesn't matter at all. I belong to a Hindu family. And my boyfriend is a Muslim. I am an agnostic however, I left Hinduism quite a while ago.
Lol Muslims aren't allowed to date
And only the men can marry Jewish and Christian women; Muslim women can only marry Muslim men
... Not all Muslims read their holy stuff like it's an IKEA instruction manual, it's not that shocking if you consider that any religion is a spectrum of rules and behaviors
@Maybe_Maybe_not You are correct. Muslims are a wide spectrum from the Taliban loving types to people who are virtually indistinguishable from secular Westerners.
Yep, I discovered that in my location many years ago. Helped by a Muslim family, they were all eating pork because, as they said, faith was more a matter of heart than rules, for them
@bingbongbangbung I know
@Leon1
I believe in anecdotes, I believe they are, statistically, train hiding another train. This example with heart I brought was maybe poorly worded. I expect moderate Catholics, for example, to see through the Old Testament and not follow it without thinking about the nature of the discourse presented. If Catholics can do this then Muslims can do it too, or anyone belonging to a religion
@Maybe_Maybe_not While I understand what you’re saying it’s doctrine/creed to not follow the Old testament as a Christian through Jesus the New Testament through replaces the old laws, in this example that’s like the equivalent of a Shiite and a Sunni in belief, would there be certain individuals that are more or less? Sure but ultimately they will have much more in common than say a Buddhist or Hindu or staunch atheist.
@Maybe_Maybe_not just to clarify I mean as in the sense that Christian’s believe the messiah has come and that it’s Christ doctrines as opposed to completely different religions but this is religion if you take this example and extend it to culture, values, ethics, opinions, race, interests there is many more differences that can accumulate and cause friction. In my culture for example we have so many dishes made of pork I could have only imagined the face of her family to see a table filled with pork culinary dishes at my family event haha or my Hindi ex family seeing all the cow dishes etc. In dating Birds of a feather flock together.
@Maybe_Maybe_not People Now days get way too caught up in the initial spark or feelings they forget that the logistics side of things is what determines long term success.
Very important. I used to never care but then my stance changed as I have gotten older. It's much easier for serious relationships
Not being religious is the most important things.
Getting them to hate humanity and be okay with murder would be the next step.
Very Inportant The person I will date should definitely not be a religious or racist person. He should forget his culture and adapt to mine, or I can adapt to his culture, no problem. But I would never be with a religious man.
Somewhat important, mutual respect is all I need really
I'm not religious, so I don't care much about that.
As for the culture, it's somewhat important, but not too important.
Yep, would only go out with my own kind.
i won't be with someone stupid
