I'm a mommy of a 4-year old with shared custody. 50/50. Half the month he has her, the other half me. Which is actually very convenient. Is having a kid a deal breaker? I added a poll to this.

Anonymous(45 Plus)11 moIt’s not a 100% deal breaker for all men. There are still some men who would date you, maybe even some men who don’t want children or can’t have children. Even men who already have children who are done w having more children. But a few things to consider, one is your age as others have already pointed out. I know that may not be fair, but that would play a factor in the amount of potential suitors. I will say if you’re cute, good looking you probably have a better shot at men still approaching you based on your looks as opposed to your average female who actually looks like she’s almost 40.
As for the child, it’s not her fault but it does deter a lot of men. Especially if the father is an asshole who is going to try to make trouble. You always feel as though you have to compete for time w the child, as childish as that might sound but it is a reality. You can’t just go on a spontaneous vacation if you want. The child could get sick so now plans change. What role are you expecting this man to play in the child’s life? You might say well she has a dad but chances are he’s going to have the same responsibilities as the father, possibly giving his life if someone broke into the house. I’m sure you would expect him to save not only you hit your daughter as well in all dangerous situations. Is he expected to show up w food for your daughter if he orders food for the two of you to have at home. Some men won’t, especially if it’s not their kid. What about discipline? Will he be allowed to discipline the child if you two end up together for good? Again if he’s expected to possibly sacrifice his life for your child why would he not be able to discipline the child if need be? Assuming you say no he can’t. It makes you wonder too would she have picked me if she wasn’t a single mother? Is she just desperate now cause she needs help financially? The other thing too that men co spider is what if she breaks up w me? Not only do I lose her but I’ll probably lose the child as well. What if he has children? There have been women who have said they don’t want a man with children, just hers, he has to accept them. There’s a lot a man must consider when it comes to single moms.12 Reply- 11 mo
Thank you for your response. I can provide for my child myself with my own income. All he needs to do is love me and be a friend to her. I'm all for discipline. I am blessed with looks an uplifting personality and 128 IQ. Life just got me wondering. Even smart people don't have all the answers or make the best decisions. But the ex husband might be an issue bc he's a spiteful person. I appreciate your straight forwardness.
Opinion Owner11 moCould you provide for her in your own if you got 100% custody? You said he’s a her half the time. Maybe, maybe not , I don’t know. If you’re blessed w like even better, IQ wise most men don’t care about that so that’s not going to make a big difference. Most men don’t go home to their wives to talk about rocket science, things like that. Some maybe. But it’s your typical how you doing? How was your day? You hungry? Do you want to go out tonight? How’s the kids? Your biggest issue though would be the ex. Some men may be scared of dealing w an ex, especially if he’s some big burly dude or cop or something, but most men just don’t want to deal w it in general regardless. The other thing is if your new man eventually was able to discipline your daughter, your daughter might not like it so she tells dad. Then dad is going to step in. Have you dated since?

You are best to look for single fathers’ instead of single guys with no kids’ Most Guys’ that don’t have children do not want to be with a girl that has a child already , To most single guys’ that’s a turn off if she has a child with another guy. Single fathers’ don’t mind because they would be hypocrites if they did. I date single Mothers’ as well because I am single father , I date single girls’ with no kids’ as well because it seems females’ don’t care as much as guys’ do. Most females’ love kids’ not all but most. I dated a single mother before I had kids’ of my own and she never disclosed to me that she had a kid , until she hook line and sinked me , and said oh by the way , I have a daughter that I forgot to tell you about , I was upset that she didn’t disclose this to me right away and I ended up dumping her for doing so. If she didn’t lie to me I would have stayed with her. She beggged for me back and said she is sorry for not disclosing her child right away , she said guys’ won’t give her a chance when she says she has a kid , i said sorry you are experiencing that , but it doesn’t make everything alright now , i hate dishonest people so , best of luck to you and hung up the phone on her

Do you think she was sincere in her apology or she was just trying to get you back?
- 11 mo
Just trying to get me back , people that have to disclose their children are liars that are trying to hook line and sink someone. I am a single father and I immediately tell a girl that is showing interest in me that I am a father , at that moment she can decide whether or not she still wants to date me , I am not going to date her and then out of nowhere tell her oh by the way I forgot
To tell you that I have 3 kids’ and act like it’s no big deal. I want a girl that is honest with me the same way I am honest with her , Not a girl that can easily lie - 11 mo
Bro… why prevented you from asking in the first place? Was she obligated to tell you? I mean, wouldn’t hurt to ask such simple question…. But now it seems you probably fucked and then you cut her off.
Too bad. You could have posted a better version of that chapter….
Either way, you have to respect yourself too, I get it - 11 mo
Because we were young and I assumed she didn’t have kids just something I didn’t think to ask considering I met her out in public and we hit it off immediately , we were only FWB’s , for a few weeks, the only reason she told me she had a kid was because I asked to go to her house , since I never been there , and that’s when she said she had something to confess

As your go-to relationship guru here, my aim is to help you navigate the dating and relationship world with a smile. Having a child isn't necessarily a deal breaker. For many, it shows responsibility and emotional depth, which can be super attractive. It really depends on the person’s mindset and readiness to embrace a bonus relationship with you and your little one. Those who see it as a package deal are likely to be keepers! Stay fabulous, and remember, love doesn’t come with a manual, only adventures! 😉

What Guys Said
7.2K opinions shared on Relationships topic. For me, it's a dealbreaker. I have a high parental investment style, and that doesn't work with someone else's kid. No matter what the single mom says about not needing a replacement daddy or man, she will rope you in on taking care of and spending money on her kid (s), which is really taking advantage of the guy.

What if she is the type that doesn't need your money, have her own job, income, insurance. What if she is willing te keep separate bank accounts and sign a prenup? If you fall in love with a woman like that, would someone else's kid still be a deal breaker? :/
- 11 mo
Ok. Thank you for your input.

11 moA woman with kids is not what I'm looking for at this stage of my life. I don't want to raise someone else's kids. And I don't want to be deprioritized for someone else's kids. And if I were in my 30's I'd have to ask myself if I want a large chunk of my income to go to raising and educating someone else's kids.
22 Reply- 11 mo
Also, I guess I'd always be wondering if she was with me because I was an economic lifeline and a handyman for her or if she really wanted to be with me. Women can be predatory. And they are survivors. I can see them latching onto a guy they don't necessarily want to be with for financial security and a lifestyle. If she doesn't respect a guy, she'll start to resent him. How long before she cheats on him?

Your assessment is correct original dating apps were to get low income or welfare mothers off the rolls So she can meet and marry a middle class man who may not have a social skills to get laid but he has health insurance better benefits and a better income Well that did not work out well for the first season it worked and then she started to fu ck somebody else behind his back and he found out and the crime rate went up
6.8K opinions shared on Relationships topic. At 38? Many of the men looking to date you will be divorced fathers. They shouldn't have a problem with you being a divorced mother. I dated a divorced mother after my own divorce, then married one.

m 11 moNothing special, it's quite common in my surroundings, in your age range. Those surroundings do not consider a man as the single source of income, they do not consider that having own kids is a life goal either. They're also not treating relationships as a step towards marriage.
10 Reply Having a supportive family means they can give you some time to yourself to find “love” again, or find cock again?
I mean, unless you’re ou want them to become your child’s potential parent there’s no reason why it should be an issue.
Put the kid to sleep and go have your cake 🎂 in the next room. Just be sure you tire her out to sleep theough the whole night.02 Reply- 11 mo
You crack me up.
What it would change for me is that I would need to be careful in the relationship, to avoid hurting a child who might become attached to me if the relationship didn’t work out. For that reason, I wouldn’t date a woman with a child the same way I would date someone without children.

Anonymous(45 Plus)11 mo@38 you're old and all you have to offer is baggage. Honestly, what's in it for him? I'm not saying it's over for you. But you do have to be honest with yourself about your marketability. There are still good men to be had in your situation. But these men are not going to be Chris Hemsworth in appearance.

How do you have that happen because many times they want you to take them out and feed their kids
- 11 mo
Thank you. You are right. I take good care of my partner. I'm a real "mommy" (not my words) to my partner as well. Only a few would understand that term and importance of that quality.
1.6K opinions shared on Relationships topic. I prefer to avoid them as they tend to think that their child should be the most important person in their lives and not their spouses. Plus most don't want anymore kids; which is even more problematic for me.
01 Reply- 11 mo
Yeah, I figured that too. I have one child, she came out perfect. So I don't wanna make any more. But I'm fine with helping a single father raise his together too.
5.1K opinions shared on Relationships topic. Why would I take on extra baggage. You chose a weak partner and make poor choices if you are in you situation. Only cucks/simps want the left overs
22 Reply- 11 mo
I'm inclined to disagree with you but unfortunately your assessment is correct.
- 11 mo
I'm probably going to regret asking this. I understand the "baggage", but why do you think a divorced woman is a "left-over"?
In most cases I just skip a single mom, as I don't want to raise a child that is not my own.

In the end of it all you have to protect yourself
- 11 mo
Oh wow. So... It's a bad thing for a wife and husband to have sex... The fuck it is! I did not pick a loser. We both picked great genes to mate with. We just didn't work out. My daughter is going to be smart and beautiful. I'm going to assume our IQs are on a different level than ours because bc I'm 128 and he's 130. But even smart people can make bad dissions and have insecurities. I just don't want to waist my time with a relationship if men are just out to use and then dump me bc I have a child. You are 26.. a baby. No experience in life. With or without kids, you will at one point still make a looser decision. I will listen to any other insult in these comments, but not from a boy. You go ahead and marry your childless woman and check back in at 10 years and let me know how it's going with that decision.
- 11 mo
You took a Facebook IQ test retard your iq is like 90bamd your "husband" is like 79. Your kids gonna be as stupid as you. Divorced.
- 11 mo
No, not fb test. A Licensed Psychologist did my test. My ex's mother was in the MENSA society... Do you even know what that is? He did the MENSA IQ test for shits and giggles and passed it too. You have to have an IQ of 130 to be accepted.

u 11 moBasically the new boyfriend is always gonna be the third wheel and is most likely invited to the things that they already have planned out and then when the X. husband the father of the child comes around it back to the same thing again the third wheel and what did you say to my child did you spank him or why did you take my child to that kind of a movie don’t take my son to Taco Bell. I don’t want him eating that kind of food You always have to answer to things. I’ve never experienced this before but can just imagine how it would be
- 11 mo
Iron man, you can be a 3rd weal in any relationship. If you marry a woman with the wrong priorities... Then she will make you the 3rd wheel even tho you are her husband and the biological father of her child.
