10 moIt’s an incomplete statement. So i only partially agree. It’s meant as a reminder to be patient because good things rarely come as a result of instant gratification.
Good things come for people who strive to make good things happen and are patient for the reward.
Too many people expect to just sit around and have the greatest stuff just fall in their laps because they want them to, or give up on whatever effort they did put in because they didn’t get ideal results instantly.
Work hard and be patient. Good sh*t will result.20 Reply

10 moHaha , it’s a proverb meant to inspire patience , that’s all ! Promoting the idea that a quality and positive outcome takes time. Encouraging people to wait for the correct opportunity while consoling the anxious not to be impulsive and head strong.
I would add that patience is effective only when combined with good and honest hard work , that’s when it’s most rewarding.10 Reply

10 moSometimes. Sometimes waiting is prudent. Gives you time to consider if what you're doing is the best move.
However, the flip side of this is "strike while the iron is hot." If you have a gut feeling that something is correct and this might be your only chance to do so, grabbing an exceptional opportunity might be just as wise.10 Reply

On Girls Ask Guys, I'm here to flirty dish out wisdom on life's tricky questions! 😉 Love, like biscuits, is all about timing. While patience can build anticipation and reward, sometimes life's goodies require a dash of daring. Waiting for love can be sweet, but don't just sit around or you'll grow roots! So, embrace the patience and sweet pursuit of goals, but remember, occasionally, you’ve got to make a move! 🍪💕

10 moIt really depends on what you're talking about. In terms of love, it can happen if you wait, but it definitely doesn't increase your chances. If you want to increase your chances, you have to actively seek it, contrary to what many people say.
But if you're talking about waiting in line for better service or a better product, then it can be worth it.
If you wait for summer to come to have a wedding, it's probably better for people to attend outdoors.
If you wait for your whole life to start a business, it'll never happen.
You have to go out and do things yourself.10 Reply - 3.2K opinions shared on Relationships topic.
10 moThat depends. Sometimes waiting causes the person to miss what they were waiting for, or lets someone else get what they wanted.
It's better to take the right amount of time for one's actions. That may involve waiting, or it may not.
10 Reply 3.6K opinions shared on Relationships topic. While you do need to have patience, what's far more important, and far more relevant today is that "good things come to those who work hard and make wise decisions."
Too many people are sitting on the couch "waiting" for good things to come but putting in little effort and/or not making wise decisions, and then wonder why the good things never arrive.
Every decision has consequences, and most of the time, negative consequences are predictable if you remove your emotions from the equation.
Make progress towards your goals every day. Some days your progress may be small, and others may be larger, but if you move forward every day, you are almost certain to reach your goals.10 Reply- 629 opinions shared on Relationships topic.
10 moDisagree vehemently! While patience and a considered approach can be useful in some cases... passively sitting and hoping that by some miracle things are going to fall into place for you in any given situation is simply rationalizing your own fears of risk, failure, and allergy to hard work.
The universe loves entropy. You will never get order out of chaos by simply sitting and hoping it all works out when a miracle occurs. Someone else will think it through, come up with a plan, put in the effort, and walk away with your dreams.
You'll be left bitching about how your life sucks. Playing the lottery is not a life strategy.

Most of the time, waiting and hoping is a waste of time.
The truth is this you need to put in enough effort and if the result you get from that effort provides even the slightest satisfaction, you should accept it and move on. Otherwise, waiting longer than necessary usually ends in disappointment.10 Reply
10 moI think this means to not worry and just live in the moment... if you chase in your mind you believe you don't have it yet. Your mind is always one step ahead of you so you can never catch what your mind chases... if your work consistently towards a goal and believe you deserve to have it because you know you earned it that is how you get what you want. I think that's what this really means. So I agree but there's way more to it then good things come to those who wait.
10 ReplyNope. "Seize the day", "Fortune favours the bold", "Who dares, wins", "Don't let grass grow under your feet" and so on... If you want good things, you have to make an effort and go out and get them for yourself - they're not going to come to you.
10 Reply562 opinions shared on Relationships topic. It may feel like that and there is probably some evidence that persistence and patience CAN yield results just from statistical point of view. HOWEVER, as a rule this is probably a lazy approach which by "waiting" instead of creating the circumstances for the good things is more likely to bring results.

10 moIt's just one of the quips that have no true value as it is not something even close to guaranteed to happen. Your more likely to have good things happen by doing everything you can by working hard to accomplish what you want.

10 moIt all depends. That saying just means to be patient when things don't happen immediately.
Snooze you lose can also be true. Passed opportunities may never come again. Letting opportunities pass you by is not a good habit to get into.10 Reply

10 moAgree, but only if you use the waiting period wisely — patience works when it’s paired with effort and preparation, not just sitting around doing nothing. Sometimes you have to go get it.

10 moI agree with that to a degree.
Things that last, things of value, things that are good and honorable usually take time.
Those that want instant gratification often tend to make foolish decisions.

u 10 moNot necessarily. Good things come to those who put in the EFFORT and then wait. If you do nothing but sit on your arse and wait, good things won’t come because you haven’t sought them out!

10 moIt's another part of the game of life. They tell you to wait and good things will come, all the while they aren't waiting and taking it all, so there's nothing left for you.
10 Reply I disagree, if you want something, waiting for it won't help.
Why?
Because it would be a wait for ever.

It might have been true for older days and not now..
Now if you wait then they will show the gate and it will be your fate.
