Is my girlfriend using her period as an excuse to express her true feelings?

My girlfriend is fine most of the time but she'll spend about a week saying mean things and outright insulting me and not even let me touch her but then will ask me to forgive her because she says she was on her period. We've been together about 6 months and she started doing it about 3-4 months in. Is she telling the truth or trying to get me to dump her?

Most Girls’ do get moody and vicious when she is on her period , but it still doesn’t give her a right to treat you like shit because of it , so you are best to put your foot down to her and tell her if she can’t be nice to you when she is on her period , then you don’t want to be around her when she is on it , and leave , I call periods Shark Week , she turns to a Shark , so you are best to keep your distance from her as much as possible during Shark week lol But you are best to put an end to her behavior as soon as possible because if you plan on being with her for the long haul , just wait until she hits menopause , your ass will be doomed

Lol this is up there with reasons I stay single. We feel for women and their situations and not all women experience discomfort periods - some women are lucky I guess genetics, odds, luck.

As someone who has periods and crazy mood swings, yes she is using it as a get out of jail card. Her being moody, irritable and weepy is totally normal but her downright insulting you and saying mean things is not.

I used to start fights when I’m PMSing but I realized that was just my hormones making me sensitive and that I do not have to go along with it. I never resorted to insulting or saying mean things but I was just being very negative overall, her hormones does play a role in it BUT she can choose to rise above it.

Maybe the distance thing is excusable but insulting you isn't.
Even when im short tempered, I realized my feelings and ask for some space. She's known she's doing that to you and doesn't fix the problem, just bandage it up when she's done.
