So I'm speaking with a guy that was my best friend in middle school. I've been speaking and exchanging reels on socials for almost a year. We haven't spoken in almost 15 years but he's been the only guy that without strings attached offered to listen to me whenever I had a bad day or felt depressed with suicidal thoughts. He didn't say much but he heard me vent while my friend group casted me aside.
He's probably a little bored but I appreciate him being nice and there to me. He's offered to be a phone call away whenever I want to talk.
The fact that he listened to my dramas and still is there for me as my friend surprises me.
We can talk for 2-4 hours on the phone, he is on breaks talking with me even if a little longer if needed be. It all means a lot yet I'm not sure if there's a chance it might be something else or an interest.
He's stationed far away but will be visiting his home soon. I'm excited to see him again. He said he'd be open to do almost anything, travel or see a concert. Or visit/stay at his place.
I see this as hospitality and as being a good friend. I remember telling him months ago that when he'd come that it'll be as friends so I wouldn't seem weird or mess anything up. Although his recent behavior made some thoughts come in my mind, I'm afraid of looking silly or love struck.
He's been good to me. What should I do?
I'm concerned of getting a crush on him. Sure I'm overthinking and should let things flow and see how it feels in real life.
I broke up with a relationship I didn't want to be in around 2 months ago and I don't want to hurt anyone though I might not see him again for a year or so.
If I was liked this guy I don't want to ask anything relationship wise to not look crazy, or awkward. I don't want it to seem as a rebound because the last guy I was casually hanging out to know him and he placed labels too soon, although I knew he wasn't my type but he didn't accept my feelings nor breaking up.
