For me, it feels most accurate to see disagreements as two architects trying to build a better structure. When both people care about the relationship, the goal shouldn’t be proving who’s right or wrong it should be strengthening the foundation and fixing whatever cracks are showing.
Lawyers just argue their side, and detectives are focused on figuring out who’s at fault. Architects work together, communicate, adjust, and create something stronger than what was there before. That mindset makes disagreements feel productive instead of exhausting, because you’re both trying to improve the relationship, not win the battle.
I really like the architect analogy and it's kinda' like that for us , where I'll come in with my great, elaborate, wonderful blueprints and my partner listens quietly and calmly as I rant and rave and cry and fuss and whine and whatever else I may do to to present my most wonderous design and then she will once more, quietly and calmly point out my entire wonderful , awesome structure has been designed on quicksand. It's kinda' like that.
Ty for the MHO 😊
