I think it is important as you should want a girl who is family oriented and includes you as part of her family.

If she can ditch her blood family, she can ditch you. They might be crazy parents and deserve it but then that means she has crazy genes and they probably traumatized as a young girl onward. A lot of traumatized people can hide it for a long time but at a point it become too much hard work and it all comes out over you.

In particular if she has close relationship with her Dad then she is going to be OK with men being men.

So you should be careful.

It depends on the situation. People can’t pick their parents. People can choose who they are as adults. If someone hates their parents without good reason yeah that’s a issue. But look… I care about who someone is.

I would say it all depends, their parent could be the red flag. Not your partner. If there could be something unsettled between them that your partner has to work on himself to feel better, no matter if possible to heal the relationship in itself or walk away that too is doable.

(I actually would have a more problem if the parent treated me horribel. Been in that weird situation. Never again is all I have to say. )

I would say that if you have come to a stage when you are suppose to be introduced to his family and friends and it won't happen that would be a red flag for me, but I've never had that problem (I have had others, lol).

Not necessarily; it depends on the reason behind it.

My father, for example, is a sex offender, and has been in and out of jail for most of my adult life. I cut off contact with him nearly 20 years ago, because I find his actions reprehensible.

Logically, I would never introduce a SO to him, because I want nothing to do with him. So if the woman I was dating said she wasn't close with her parent (s), then I would assume there might be a good reason for that.

Nah. I have been with my husband for over 16 years and never met or spoke to his parents, and I don't even know where my parents live these days or if they are even alive.

Some people are quite capable of living without parents being in the picture.
