For me it's doing my mental development and functioning at a high level at the same time. For NT people things just seem so easy, like they don't have to think that much during the day and can be burdened more without collapsing. I have to manage everything manually and have to constantly adjust to the circumstances of the day how much I can manage and then try to have good habits but it gets disrupted easily. I feel like I'm always making progress but it's still challenging and when I go forward there's always bigger challenges waiting for me so it's complicated, but I still want to stay optimistic and believe that I'll find someone. I feel like I'm getting there, also from how people react to me I've been noticing changes.

My biggest obstacle is my insecurity about where I am in my life. It consumes me and I pretty much make it my whole personality. It can be pretty distasteful at times. But I try to be the best partner I can be regardless. I still think my good qualities in a relationship outweigh my flaws and that's why most of my partners always reach out after they break up with me. But it's definitely a flaw that will be fixed once I have my life together.

Even the guy who chased me down promised to make me happy, promised so many things that never happened and said he wanted to be with me in Jannah (Heaven) left me for some other woman.. So it's hard to trust anyone now.

Is that fear? Maybe, to me it looks like I became more and more observant of dynamics in the first months of a relationship, and before, during courtship. Observing what she wants, what she says, what she doesn't seem to say, how she reacts, what she experienced in prior relationships, her history with parents, as a kid, as a teen, what do I represent for her etc.

There's just so much I like, in fact I need, to check because I missed information in the past, because my history with relationships started with 2 specific breakups I was clueless about. One of them was so massively unexpected that I really want to avoid experiencing that again.

Being discarded. That something will randomly change for the woman that she just doesn't have feelings for me anymore, so she arbitrarily decides to extract as much as she can out of me and then blow me off.

I've now had several experiences where that shit happens. The story is always the same. Things are good until something changes one day, the communication shuts down because I'm not being considered as part of the equation anymore. Next thing I know, she starts actively shutting me out and she starts pouring out some kind of resentment on me.

Fuck that. If I'm going to be asked for favors, I'm happy to help without expectation, but I don't want to be resented for it.

The biggest one i always had was loyalty. I broke up with women in the past who I was serious about because I knew they had a history of cheating on an ex or maybe had an inkling they might cheat. I didn't do it dramatically, often I just let the relationship die.

I have been hurt a lot in my previous relationships and I still carry that with me even though I do work on it, but my baggage and my insecurities that have come from those experiences, are the thing that holds me back from getting into a new relationship. The fear of getting hurt again while I'm still broken.
