Opening up about dreams, fears and past struggles creates deep bonds. Mutual and honest sharing is key. Touch, affection, and expressing love in various ways, after establishing some relationship / closeness strengthens it. As a result, you create a deeper connection with her, If you want her to feel deeply attached to you, she needs to feel safe enough to trust you.

I get emotionally attached when I feel safe. When I meet someone and we can talk about literally anything without worrying about being judged... And they appreciate me flaws and all.

Also when we understand each other’s sense of humor and can laugh together about any and everything.

Most importantly, there has to be a mutual effort and reciprocity.

As a man that I have no intrinsic value “just for existing” when it comes to romantic relationships with women.

I am only valuable to them if I had offer some sort of tangible benefit (being attractive, money, support, sex at the “right” moment, etc.)

While women will argue that vice versa is true, it really isn’t. Women really are more “special” than men JUST for existing. And they get more sympathy from society as a whole if they feel like they are ignored.

I accepted that hard reality years ago. But there was woman I met years ago who really made me feel special to her just for being me. She flat out said so. Not becuase of my hobbies, looks, etc.

That made me really emotionally attach to her. And it made it far more devastating and long lasting when she broke up with me and treated to me like I was less than human when it happened.

I would say it's a mix of things for emotions. If it's a love/intimacy relationship it based on what your chemicals are set up for what attracts you to that person.

For friends mas opposed to like. co workers it's based on how they approach you and interact along with how each of you make one another feel happy and safe and likes and dislikes from location to food to sports or outdoors to indoor type activities.
