I turned my situationship into relationship. Is he with me because he needs to or wants to?

We have known each other for over six years. It started as a one-night stand, and after that we saw each other several more times. Then I got into a relationship and we stopped communicating. Three years later, we started communicating on Tinder and became friends with benefits again, seeing each other every week. During that time, I brought up the topic several times, saying that I had feelings for him and asking if he saw a relationship in it, but he said he was a lone wolf and didn't want a relationship. However, something changed six months ago, and now we are in a relationship. But I am tormented by the question: what changed? Is he with me out of obligation or because he wants to be? They say that men love women more when they have had to work hard for them. But he didn't have to work hard for me. Should I be worried.
