A while ago I met a woman in the wrong place at the wrong time but the sparks we had could start a wild fire

We both knew it and both knew we couldn’t act on it

Shortly after life decided to separate us permanently.

I knew it’s for the best considering everything but in the end I ended up single and while I’m open to a relationship I don’t feel fully ready for one.

It’s a tricky place to be in, mourning something you never had but preventing you from having something real elsewhere

Well, I was single and I was super happy and fine with being single for over a year now, I’d even argue. It felt good.

Then I met one woman who was absolutely fantastic, She even pulled out her phone to give me her number and I chickened out last second.

But that encounter reminded me Just how amazing some people are.

I'm enjoying short term dating and meeting new people for the last 10 years after 30 years of marriage. I'm not really looking for another adult human to take care of full time at the moment.
Variety seems to work well for me. If I can't find one person who has everything I want in a woman, I can find it in the aggregate in several women. It keeps me from getting bored.

  The longing is pretty intense, like nothing I've felt before, but it's completely impossible for multiple reasons starting with a large age difference. The attraction is mutual but I would never leave my wife. We met online when I commented on something she had written and that led to a long correspondence.

  It's over but the longing remains. And you are right, I should have never let it go on so long but there are things my wife wouldn't talk about so it was quite powerful to be able to share them with someone who felt the same.
