How do you cope with parents who just don’t listen to you?

I am a horrible example and please don't follow in my foot steps but at 16 I got a job and my own apartment. Every person has a limit and only you can know yours. But what I know is you have no dominion over anyone else and have no right to expect them to change to better suit you so you can either suck it up or change yourself.

By not expecting them to listen to you, and adjusting your behavior accordingly. Limit your time with them, and spend more time with supportive friends.

You cope by protecting your peace. Stay calm, say what you feel once, clearly and respectfully, then stop chasing their validation. Set emotional boundaries, share less if they twist your words, and lean on people who actually listen. You’re not obligated to keep bleeding for people who refuse to hear you, even if they’re family ❤️
