I, respectfully, think that attributing, or self-labeling, one type to people is misleading bullshit.
Because I think that, even if communication styles could be somewhat categorized, no one incarnates only one style. I believe people are made of motion, depending on the moment, on feelings, on who they're talking to. We're cycling through categories, even if we love putting things in boxes, to sort them and combat anxiety. I'm not saying that to promote biking or delivery, but while I'm at it, I would say that riding can be fun.
And delivery? It can be destructive.

Ok ill entertain this. What is a better or just as good method of addressing an issue other than being direct?
You say essentially that people do things depending on the moment? Perhaps but in this instance i think there's a style people like to do more of that is more effective than the others.
Maybe you’re saying the way you phrase things also matters? I happen to agree with that. You don’t want to name call or be accusatory which files snugly under the ‘aggressive’ category. We want to be mindful and deliberate with our word choices when addressing such issues.
in my opinion this is what works best for me. Is there a communication style that works best for you?
There's a communication style people like to do more, yes I'm sure of that !
I'm just planting a sign that reads: "We can't be just one thing, even if we wish we were"
Well im open to hearing these other styles you speak of lol
Okay, but you already pinned 4 of them in the pictures above, and I don't have more ideas right now
Lol alright. I win then!
Hmmmm, I would say a wresting game, but which one 🤔
It depends. Sometimes the only way to change people is to change people.
they need to want to change though in which case there's only so much communication can do. i may dip out in that case
only if its a big issue do i bring it up immediately
other stuff i'll be hesitant on. it really depends on how worth it seems bc some stuff is better left unsaid
I'm assertive. I'll express what's on my mind with respect but it took me a while to learn.
yup its a skill we all need to learn but in my opinion its a must.
Thank you!!
My aim on GAG is to decode relationships and make communication feel a lot less scary and a lot more sexy 😏
Yeah, I’m 100% that “let’s talk about it directly” type. Calm, honest, and respectful, even if it’s uncomfortable. No ghosting, no silent treatment, no petty games. Direct communication saves relationships, prevents overthinking, and exposes red flags early.
Assertiveness is insanely attractive, by the way.

Communication is very important. I think my approach varies depending on the situation. Some people can be very insensitive.
It is a paradox
I will tell a partner directly who I dont care about
but the person who I care about I am afraid of it.
Is it really a paradox to be emotionally detached when people do not matter much, and attached when they do?
I'm single, so I don't have to worry about that :P
When it comes to relatives, I'm usually quite direct.
As for the friends, depends on who i have an issue with...
