I just watched a video about this very thing.

It was because the person wasn't being treated right. Not abusive but more like an object.

The video said not to give any notice or warning, but just leave and don't go back. Don't say a word about it.

Of course the other person doesn't always leave because they aren't being treated right. Sometimes the other person finds someone else and just up and leaves without even saying anything - not even good bye.

I don't think it's right to do that to anyone, but I am more compassionate than most people these days. Some can be very heartless.
