Is my 53-year-old ex-womanizer boyfriend truly ready to settle down?

I'm 49, My man is 53. He has been with a lot of women in his lifetime, I have been with less than 10 guys. He said he was a womanizer but never cheated unless they did first. He now claims he is ready to settle down and be with one woman but thinks it's okay to meet his ex in a hotel room while he was in town and says I'm crazy and have a "guilty conscience" that I automatically assume anything besides talking happened! Am I immature? Petty? Crazy? Or is this behavior fine? And will he actually ever settle down?;

Did he literally say he met her in a hotel room? Not like a restaurant, or the lobby of the hotel where she's staying? How did you find out he met her at all? Did he tell you beforehand, or did you find out some other way and then he told you the full story?

Just based on what you've said, this guy doesn't seem to want to settle down. Maybe I'm wrong, but he seems to want to keep playing the field, but can't as much as he used to because he's aging out.

Why is he meeting his ex in a HOTEL room. Why can't he meet her for dinner? Have you come with and enjoy their conversation? Meet at a museum? The zoo? There are dozens of public places to meet, if she's simply a friend, why aren't you invited?
