I feel I grow more from high purpose times rather than high happiness times, when I was a child, happiness regulated my personality better than pain, but as an adult, I find meaning regulates my behaviour better than pain or trauma or happiness. But pain must be dealt with through reflection and study because it is a real issue that impacts happiness.

Hardest trials and the happiest moments. They both shape you in different ways. The hardships make you stronger while the happiest moments make you appreciative of the time you have on earth.

I believe my hardest trials were efficiently countered by my happiest moments. And that's a complicated way to just tell I've been lucky with life events

Definitely my attitude and reactions during tough times. I believe you truly change as a person when you have to dig yourself out of the mud. Your whole perspective on everything changes.

Oh I suspect some people are shielded, from the bottomless pit, by religious beliefs, yes I strongly suspect that. And I equally suspect some people could want to believe solely for the purpose of getting access to this shield. On that aspect, I found Dogma (1999) totally fascinating
