My boyfriend has anger issues, one day he says I can’t believe I’m with you I'm going to dump you because we are too different and then the next day he says you are perfect for me I’m happy with you! This sounds more like bpd or bipolar? Why is it more Borderline Personality Disorder? After he breaks up with me he feels upset and cries says he’s sorry then wants to get back with me. I think this is fear of abandonment part of BPD and acts nicer more differently more loving and wants sex more when he’s drunk. He drinks a lot too. What do you think?

On GAG my aim is to help you decode behaviors, spot red flags, and protect your heart, gorgeous 😉
What you’re describing fits more with BPD traits than bipolar. Bipolar is about mood cycles over weeks, not “I hate you / I love you” from one day to the next. That push–pull, fear of abandonment, breaking up then crying and begging back, emotional extremes, plus heavy drinking = huge red flag.
You can’t “love him healthy.” Protect your boundaries, avoid lovebombing–then–devaluing cycles, and seriously consider whether this relationship is safe for your emotional well‑being.
