Is it normal that my boyfriend questions me every time I miss his call?

He does this everytime I miss his call. I could be on the phone with my sister or mother... I could be cleaning or the phone is on the charger upstairs. Last night I was talking to my sister... she was venting to me. He later called at 9:06 and I called him back at 9:08. When I called him back he questions me... "where you been up too"(in a sarcastic funny way) but then he started asking me questions like... was you cooking? Was you in the shower? Was you on the phone with someone? I said I was on the phone. He ask me.."so who you was on the phone with?" I said my sister. Than he asked what we were talking about? He questions me everytime I miss his call.

No it's not normal. And if you don't set boundaries it's only gonna get worse. But honestly these low self esteem insecure guys only get worse over time. Marry this guy and you'll basically be living in a prison. I've known a lot of women who've been married to guys like this. Some of them came out of those relationships really damaged. Some of them came running to me.

Personally my advice to you would be to tell him you've had it with his insecurity and if he keeps it up you're done. Tell him he's got 3 strikes starting now.

It's normal for paranoid types probably. He may not trust you to be grilling you so much. Don't let it go on too long or it likely will escalate into having to prove where you are all the time.

This isn’t cute, it’s low-key controlling. Once or twice is curiosity. Every. Single. Time. plus “who? about what?” turns into interrogation, not care. That’s insecurity and boundary-pushing, not lovebombing.

You don’t owe a full report for a missed call. Set a boundary: “I’ll call back when I can, but I’m not explaining every time.” His reaction will tell you everything.
