How can I ask my boyfriend to post me on social media without pushing him?

I have been dating my boyfriend for 8 months and really think it’s time to post each other or at least make are pfp pics of us together. At 3 months I mentioned it and he said he doesn’t really post on social media. I use social media so he wasn’t gonna post me but I could post it. I didn’t feel comfortable just posting him because I think the whole point of posting each other is so that his followers and my followers and anyone who searches us on Instagram can see that we’re taken. Any advice on how to have a meaningful conversation about this and convince him that is a good idea to post each other or make each other our profile pics

Don’t push it. Otherwise you may end up single. To me it shows you’re insecure. To you, him not posting you online makes you question how serious is he about you. It makes you think is he ashamed of me. Is he hiding me because he doesn’t want other women to see me. A lot of men don’t like social media, we don’t want everyone knowing about our lives unless we open up to telling someone ourselves. A lot of women crave attention, most likely you do as well. As a man I can tell you I like my privacy, my wife of 18 years knows this. I don’t recall once in our 18 years ever posting her on my social media. Not cause I don’t love her or I’m embarrassed about her, I just respect her privacy as well as my own. I don’t even post images of myself. You need to get out of your head, see it through another lens than just your own.

Don’t let people tell you you’re being needy or unreasonable, you’re not. If he refuses to post you on social media, knowing that upsets you he’s selfish, don’t care about you and possibly has something to hide. If you know something is bothering your partner and there’s an easy fix for that (a social media post is a very easy thing to do) but they won’t do it then dump their ass and find someone who cares and wants you to be comfortable and happy.
