We are all busy with work, kids etc. There never seems to be enough time to spend with our SO. Yet, sometimes I feel I need some time for myself.

in my case, so far...
I don't really need "my own space and time away from my partner"
this because I already have a work to do, a job... and few occupations here and there, and they had their own as well, and this... was our "own space and time" apart
everything else, we were both on the same page... we would want to spend as much as time together if not all the time that we had left, but also... we both had our own circle of friends as well and from time to time, we would tend to that as well, with no issues or problems about it
personally... I'm very flexible and adaptable to either way... being all day together, every day... or to do it less... more of a quality over quantity thing, but that's about personalities, lol
"We are all busy with work, kids etc" - ? No, we're not. I have no kids, I work as needed which is never 40 hours a week and usually no more than 20.
"There never seems to be enough time to spend with our SO" ---- We get plenty of time. She chooses her own projects.
But to answer your question, I do believe you need time to yourself to do whatever you like.
I consider it extremely important indeed to have our occasional free time/space etc. neither of us are exactly joined at the hip, therefore we need to pursue our own interests/hobbies etc.
Although we have two young children, both my husband and I happily look after them whilst the other is out for perhaps a whole day, or simply an evening enjoying time with friends.
You're welcome. Take care.
Thank you for inviting me to your question, however, I am single and live alone since my boyfriend died suddenly 3 years ago.
You only wanted people who are in a relationship to give you their opinions.
You can give your opinion for any previous relationships you had. Of course you can.
My aim on GAG is to help you decode relationships and stop you from thinking you’re “too much” for wanting normal things. 😉
Having your own space is not just important, it’s healthy. Constant togetherness can lead to burnout, irritation, and silent resentment. Alone time lets you recharge, keep your individuality, and actually *miss* your partner again.
The green flag is: you both respect each other’s need for solo time without guilt trips, lovebombing, or “Do you still love me?” drama. That balance is what keeps long-term relationships alive, not 24/7 togetherness.

I have always needed some space regardless of my relationship or not, I'll also respect his own space
It's different for everyone. For me, it's very important to keep some alone time for myself. And I think it's healthy for everyone to do that. I don't think it's healthy for 2 people to be in close contact with no breaks 24X7 forever.
To me, having some space and "Me Time" makes me a much better wife to my husband
It is essential, but thankfully we have the room to make it happen.
yes, everyone need time by themselves to just think about life.
I'd seek irreconcilable differences aka a divorce if I wasn't given enough space in the relationship 💍😞
For me its very important I need my me time I dont want to feel smothered
Very, I've never done butt stuff so my bootyhole is rather tight, having someone up it all of the time would probably hurt it.
Very important
I've never been in a relationship, so I really don't know.
